This is nice and uncommon Hubley design and normally would have had beautiful colors. The knocker shows details of the bird that is perched on a branch. The knocker shows details of the face such as eyes and beak as well as plumage of the wings and the tail. The doorknocker shows remnants of the colors but has darkened with age and use. The parrot swings on a pivot attached to an oval backing. The backing has a raised design of leaves. The back of the swinging piece (the parrot) has a small raised portion near the bottom which hits the raised leaves at the bottom of the backing to make the appropriate knocking sound. The backing is oval and is colored in a cream coloring and has two holes for screwing into a door. The piece is stamped on the back with the number "16". This nice piece has darkened with age and lost quite a bit of its original colors. Please carefully review the photos presented as they are part and parcel of our description.

Date: Uncertain but most likely circa 1930's.

Origin: Purchased at an estate sale in southeastern Pennsylvania.

Size: The back measures ~4" by ~3" while the front measures ~3 3/4" tall and ~2 1/2" at its widest.
